Cindy Rogers' Goes Out With A BANG!
Super WSU and G.L.O.R.Y. Girl fan Ed Darcey was on hand in Union City Saturday night for Uncensored Rumble IV. Camera in hand, he snapped some of the action from Cindy Rogers' retirement match and reports on how it all went down...
One of the myriad of entertaining and good matches WSU presented on Saturday night in Union City, New Jersey, was the retirement match of women's wrestling stalwart Cindy Rogers. Fittingly, her opponent was another ring veteran with whom Cindy has had numerous encounters over the years from the East Coast to the Midwest, some of them most violent and hard fought, Allison Danger. Their last encounter would prove to be no exception.
As one would expect from these two crafty and proficient pros, they took turns tieing each other up in debilitating holds as well as test of strengths. When Allison caught Cindy bent over the ropes, she booted her to the floor. Once there Danger decided to use a chair to choke Rogers. Cindy fought back, using the ring barricade as a weapon. Back in the ring Cindy managed to wrap her legs and arms around her opponent and drove her to mat, stunning Allison. Rogers quickly applied her finisher, the TCB. After several futile attempts to escape, Danger was forced to submit.
The competitors, both exhausted, hugged one another and were obviously choked up by the emotion of the moment. While it is a shame to lose such a tenacious and talented competitor as Cindy, when the body and mind tell you it's time to go, one would do well to heed the call. Goodbye and good luck to a classy wrestler. Cindy Rogers will be missed.
