Harley Race, Les Thatcher, Pro-Wrestling NOAH holding pro wresting camp in August

May 31, 2004 (8:00am): Eight-time World Champion and recent WWE Hall of Fame inductee Harley Race is teaming with Heartland Wrestling Alliance founder Les Thatcher and Japanese organization Pro-Wrestling NOAH to hold a professional wrestling camp August 9TH through 13TH, in Eldon, Missouri, home of the Harley Race Wrestling Academy and World League Wrestling Headquarters.

Current and aspiring professional wrestlers are invited to attend the wrestling camp, which is the first of its kind to be held in the United States. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn hands-on from Race and Thatcher, operators of two of the country's top wrestling schools, and legendary Japanese junior heavyweight Yoshinari Ogawa, a former Pro-Wrestling NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion and Ken Hirayama. Depending on the number of registrations, possibly the President of Noah and current GHC Tag Team Champion with Mitsuharu Misawa. The camp will offer cardiovascular, nutritional, and weight instruction in addition to the in-ring training.

In addition to instruction from three wrestling legends, camp attendees will be competing for the grand prize, an all-expense paid trip to Japan to train in the most exclusive pro wrestling school in the world, the Pro-Wrestling NOAH dojo in Tokyo. The grand prize winner may also receive the opportunity to compete on Pro-Wrestling NOAH cards. Up to two grand prizes will be awarded. The second-prize winner will receive a partial scholarship to the Harley Race Wrestling Academy: Race will also be scouting talent for his World League Wrestling promotion and for Pro-Wrestling NOAH. Some of the standouts from the camp will appear on the live WLW event to be held in Eldon the weekend of the camp.

The fee for the wrestling camp is $1,000, which includes hotel accommodations and hands-on instruction from wrestling legends Harley Race, Les Thatcher, and Yoshinari Ogawa. The camp is open to both current professional wrestlers and those wishing to begin training for a career in wrestling. Females are also encouraged to participate.
