Chance Of Rain In WSU's Future
Today's POD comes to us courtesy of G.L.O.R.Y. fan Ed Darcey, who was in the crowd
While there were many stellar moments at the WSU Anniversary Show, from the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies to the final match, the bull rope/hair vs. title match between Mercedes and Angel, which was astounding, the match that stands out as most old school, in the sense that it was all fought inside the ring, was the battle between one of the evening's Hall of Fame inductees, Malia Hosaka, and a woman who is probably destined for induction down the line, and in many fans' opinions under-appreciated, Rain.
While Malia had the edge in experience, Rain had the edge in size which she made use of as often as possible. Malia, however, consistently reversed a disadvantage into an advantage. Naturally Rain then resorted to distraction, rope chokes and hair pulling to reacquire an advantage. In the end the wily and determined Minnesotan was able to pin the Hall of Famer. I say determined, because she sought every conceivable way to pin Malia, in the end resorting to a DDT on a chair to knock Hosaka senseless. And wily because she was savvy enough to remove the chair and any other evidence of her short cut to victory from the eyes of a groggy referee, who proceeded to count the pinfall in Rain's favor. There is a rumor afoot that Rain will be a regular on WSU shows. One hopes this is true as not only is she fun to watch, but her persona outside the ring belies her her in ring actions. She is a delightful young woman, with a winning personality and grimace that is half hearted at best!
