Comeback Time For Sassy Stephie
Yesterday we watched as Sassy Stephie was pummeled and choked by her opponent, Brittany Force, and Brittany's ringside male assistant. But even with the odds stacked against her, Stephie was able to mount a vibrant comeback in this match. And she was able to do it by taking to the air. Wally catches Stephie at the high point of her flight as she prepares to drop a big elbow to the chest of the waiting Force. Next, a leap off the corner ropes with a flying cross body press (below) continues the comeback of the sassy wrestler. The overwhelmed Brittany looked to be on the verge of a defeat...especially after Steph hit her with a perfectly executed sunset flip. Well, it would have been perfect if that ringside creep didn't get involved!
Halfway through Stephie's potentially match-winning move, Force reached out and got help from her manager. Holding his walking cane through the ropes, Brittany grabbed hold and held on tightly. The assist gave her the needed stability to keep from being rolled up for a pin by her opponent. Try as she might, Stephie could not find the leverage to bring Brittany all the way over to a pinning position. Worse still, Steph was trapped herself. On her back, shoulders touching the mat and unable to maneuver away from the interference being offered from outside the ring ropes, Stephie ended up being small-packaged herself.
An unfortunate loss for Sassy Stephie and a technical win for Brittany. But is it a win that she can be proud of? We think not!
