Angry Hatred!
A few days ago, we showed you the JAPW battle between Hailey Hatred and Sara del Rey which took place a couple of weekends ago. Hailey lost that match and, apparently, she wanted to take it out on somebody...anybody. Turns out that the somebody was Mercedes Martinez at ACE's Saturday night event in Union City, New Jersey. G.L.O.R.Y. Girl fan Ed Darcey was there with his camera and he reports on the action...
Saturday Night at the ACE Arena in Union City, New Jersey, Hailey Hatred made her second attempt in as many weeks to wrest a championship away from a titleholder. This time it was the WSU Women's World Championship, held by the Latina Sensation Mercedes Martinez.
Having successfully defended her title reign the night before against sensational rookie Brooke Carter, facing the veteran Hatred would be quite a task, made all the more difficult as Martinez is nursing a number of nagging injuries, the latest of which is a bad back. Knowing this, Hailey decided to concentrate on the spine and lower back of Mercedes. She slammed Martinez to the floor, rammed her back against the ring post, bent her around the post and yanked her leg and arm. Tossing Martinez back in the ring, Hatred then went for leg and Boston crab holds, a bow and arrow and anything else she could think of...including standing on Mercedes back after stomping her repeatedly.
In the end, Mercedes, though weary and hurt, was able to use her ring savvy and experience to catch Hatred in a surprise roll up, using the blonde's own size to help keep Hailey's shoulders on the mat. Angered by the blonde's tactics, Martinez challenged Hailey and her tag team partner, Jessica Havoc, the current WSU Tag Team Champions, to a grudge match at the second DVD taping on the next WSU extravaganza on October 3rd at the same Ace Arena. With Martinez's partner a mystery at the moment, it sets up to be an intriguing contest.
