Chaos At WSU!
G.L.O.R.Y. Girl fan and photographer Ed Darcey was on hand for this past weekend's WSU show in Flemington, New Jersey: camera in hand and taking notes on all the action. Take it away, Ed...
One of the more interesting matches at the WSU show in Flemington involved two veteran G.L.O.R.Y. gals who'd appeared on shows together before, but had never wrestle each before...namely Amber O'Neal and Sumie Sakai. While O'Neal started with her usual stalling and head games, the wiley Sakai took advantage of Amber's repeated jawing with the crowd for a few early near falls. However, the blonde proved that her hailing from the "Dirty South" meant just that, tactics-wise. O'Neal continually used the ropes as both an ally and a weapon to wear down the smaller Sakai. In the end, when Sumie missed a move off the top rope, the blonde was able to apply her finisher
It seems that going 5 and 0 in WSU has gone to Amber's head and made her feisty and arrogant. After her victory, she didn't like the way ring announcer SoCalVal pronounced her name and started abusing the Southern California redhead, threatening to make Val her sixth victim. Seeing this, none other than Jazz ran out to defend the ring announcer and promised O'Neal she'd be 5 and 1 if they faced off. NWS commissioner Gino Moore immediately made the match for the WSU March Anniversary Show. As further proof that she's leaving her sweet Southern disposition behind, Amber has aligned herself with Rain and Nikki Roxx (Rain's Wrecking Crew?) against the likes of Martinez, Orsini and Jazz. That was obvious to all when later, Amber stormed the ring brandishing a chair to join Roxx in a beatdown of Mercedes after the champ's successful title defense over Kong. We'll see how effective this group is in March!
