When Ariel found herself facing fellow G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Melanie Cruise at the start of a tag team match at the latest SHIMMER event in Berwyn, Illinois, she was immediately presented with a problem: What do you do when your 6' tall opponent wants to lock up in an overhead test of strength...and you're a mere 5' 2"?
Even as Ariel tried to solve the dilemma she was in, she had to contend with some obvious taunting and ridiculing from the taller wrestler. With Melanie's height and reach advantage there was no way that the New England wrestler could engage the hold even if she did a Michael Jordan-type jump! But the resourceful G.L.O.R.Y. Girl came up with a solution. She leaped up on the middle ring ropes to negate Cruise's height advantage, engaged in the fingerlock test of strength and then dropped back down to the mat...making sure to rotate her wrists 180° while doing so. Now in this underhanded grip, the shorter wrestler had the leverage. And as the pained expression on Ms. Cruise's face confesses, that ain't her!
