Disarmed
It was a tough battle when G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Ariel stepped into the SHIMMER ring to face Japanese wrestling star Misaki Ohata a couple of months ago. The game plan of the Portuguese Princess was obvious: stun her opponent with power moves before diving in for the kill. And that strategy seemed to be working as Ohata was left reeling from a dropkick off the ropes, some tough forearm smashes to the chin and a body-rattling powerslam in the middle of the ring. But all Ohata needed was one opening...and she got it when Ariel carelessly left her right side undefended. Her opponent took advantage by locking onto that arm and going to work. Ariel held on as long as she could while her arm was wrenched, twisted and pulled. But it was no use as her choice soon became one of tapping out or having her shoulder, elbow and wrist severely damaged in the crippling armbar. No one in attendance could blame Ariel for submitting to this hopeless and painful situation.
