Allysin Kay vs. Jamilia Craft
Ed Darcey is back with more pictures and details of last weekend's WSU event in Union City, New Jersey...
While WSU's show Saturday was headlined by familiar wrestlers with varying axes to grind and positions to be advanced, WSU, as is its wont, was more than willing to bring in talent from outside the Northeast to let them make their presence known. Having earlier brought in well known names such as Rain from FLA, now April Hunter, Traci Brooks, Angel Williams and Velvet Sky from TNA-land, Serena and Kristin Astara from WWE-land and heavy hitters from the indy world like Amber O'Neal, Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews, this time they brought in two younger veterans who were unfamiliar to the New Jersey audience.
In one match, the Midwest's Allysin Kay faced off against PWI's "One to Watch" Jamilia Craft, who has served WSU well recently by filling the breach when weather forced some workers to not be able to make a show. Craft has steadily improved and become something of a crowd favorite, while Kay was an unknown quantity. A larger, rather strong and fierce looking competitor, Kay would have to seem to have had the advantage, but being unfamiliar with WSU competitors, she was surprised by the quickness and alacrity of Ms. Craft. Jamilia, while seemingly on the defensive, was taking it to her larger and more powerful foe. In the end she surprised Kay with a quick and devastating suplex on Allysin's shoulder and head, stunning Kay and letting Craft score the pinfall.
If Allysin is to be a regular in WSU in the future, which one would hope is the case as the Midwestern woman would seem to have what it takes, she will have to learn this is not the minor leagues but the majors. WSU is a place where you have to step up your game or go home. I have a feeling Ms. Kay is up to the challenge!
