Impressive Rookie Team Makes WSU Debut
Yesterday, Ed Darcey filled us in on the great match between G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Portia Perez and Mercedes Martinez at last month's WSU event. Today, Ed checks in with a report on a match involving two up-and-coming young East Coast rookies. Although the ladies involved in this match are not on the G.L.O.R.Y. roster, we thought you'd like to see the action. Maybe we're seeing some future G.L.O.R.Y. Girls in the making!
WSU's last event was also a showcase for two rookies, Rayna Fyre (who has appeared on a few WSU shows) and the debuting Brooke Carter, a friend of Fyre who was trained by the same people as Rayna. They faced a rather daunting opposition team for their first match, however: the experienced combination of the Badass Beauties, Trixie Lynn and Melissa Coates. While not a grizzled veteran, Lynn has worked consistently in Delaware, Pennsylvania and other East Coast metropolitan areas for numerous promotions. Coates is a well-established star in both bodybuilding and wrestling.
Fyre did most of the early work, acquitting herself well against the strength of Melissa and the speed of Trixie. When she tagged off to Brooke, the youngster surprised the Beauties with her enthusiasm and quickness...at one point catching Coates in a flying head scissor and sending her to the mat. In the end, however, the veterans were able to catch Carter, double teaming her, slamming her face-first to the mat and getting the pin.
I'm betting we see more of these two young wrestlers on the indy scene as they have plenty of enthusiasm and Fyre, lol. With Rayna's size and strength and Brooke's speed and quickness, they should develop into a formidable team!
