Rocked Roxie

Yesterday we watched as a tough newcomer to the wrestling ring, Marti Belle, took on G.L.O.R.Y. Girl veteran Roxie Cotton at SWO's recent Columbia, Pennsylvania, event. Surprising to many was the way young Belle dominated much of the match as she targeted Roxie's left leg for massive amounts of punishment. But the Valley Girl's leg wasn't the only body part that took abuse. The rookie showed the crowd just how vicious she could be as she balled up her fist and pounded away at the head [above] and face [Picture #2] of her opponent. When the fight moved to the arena floor, Roxie's ribs also absorbed a pounding as she tried (in vain) to cover-up along the ring apron. [ #3]

Everything was going Belle's way...that is, until Roxie's advantage in the experience department showed itself. It only took one moment of distraction--that dreaded rookie mistake--and Roxie pounced on her opportunity. Cotton hooked her opponent from behind, pulled her back off her feet [ #4] and rolled her up into a small package from which the surprised Belle would find it impossible to escape [ #5].

Belle's response to the unexpected loss? She threw a tantrum! The rookie kicked and pounded the mat with her hands and feet, looking like a child whose favorite toy had just been taken away by a strict parent! [ #6] [ #7] Too bad, Marti. But maybe next time you won't take the resilient and resourceful Ms. Cotton for granted in the ring.
