Let's Hear It For The (G.L.O.R.Y.) Girls!
The past several days of PODs here on G.L.O.R.Y. Wrestling have looked tough for the team of Roxie Cotton and Sumie Sakai. Competing in last weekend's World-1 three-way battle for the fed's tag team title against two other all-male teams, the ladies—especially Roxie—were taking a pretty good beating from their bigger and nastier opponents. But it didn't stay that way...
Sumie was able to put her team on track by using an effective camel clutch coupled with a rather painful looking fish hook of her victim's mouth [above]. Then the girls really got on a roll. A double-clothesline took down one guy [Picture #2], leading Roxie to take down two all on her own! [ #3] As they continued working as a team along the ropes [ #4], fans must have started to wonder to themselves: "Can they really pull this off?!"
It was when Sumie decided to take the attack to the sky that things started to come together for the G.L.O.R.Y.-ous pair. Take a look as the Japanese star leaps off the top corner ropes and takes out not one, but both enemies with a single high-flying missle dropkick! [ #5] [ #6] The end was near when Roxie entered the ring to help her partner with the final act of their aerial show. Check out this spectacular tactic that had Cotton giving extra leverage and power to Sumie's crunching 360° splash of their male opponent. [ #7] [ #8]
Against unbelievably long odds, it was the team of Roxie Cotton and Sumie Sakai who walked away with the World-1 Tag Team Championship Title last weekend. [ #9] Congratulations, Rox and Sumie!
